That's so Annika.
Let's go ski!
Freeze Dance!
From day one, I’ve been the kid that says “No, let me try it myself.” It’s led to a few regrets, but also taught me to unapologetically be myself – the free willed girl that shamelessly dances like no one is watching.
At two, my dad took me skiing for the first time. I looked up to my older sister, she didn’t have an edgie wedgie. Why did I have one then? I refused to move until my dad took it off, and from then on, no more edgie wedgie. In anything I do, I've learned to stand up for what I believe and realize that asking never hurts.
Similar thing happened at three. I was learning to bike. Why would I need training wheels? “I can do it Dad! Let go.” He did. I learned the hard way this time and ran into a pile of bricks. I got back up and still refused to put the training wheels back on. Falling doesn't mean you failed, just that you have to try again. You just have to get yourself up, and dust yourself off.
New Sunglasses!
Jumping because I can!
This is Patricia!
Why be bored? There’s better things to do.
Lessons I've taught myself while sitting in my own thoughts, probably just staring at a wall (or the clouds):
- It’s never too late to try something new
- Fail as much as you can
- Make everyone feel seen
- Take advice, but live your own life
- Make do with what you have
- I like to be wrong
- You have free will.
Like I told you, I'm never bored.
- I've competed in (and won) "ski ballet"
- I became an avid berry picker
- It's never a bad time to go thrifting (I got a pair of pink sparkly rain boots once - at the age of 20 )
- I'll scribble some thoughts in my journal or notes app
- I have a 5ft inflatable alien
- I learned how to do the worm and kip up
- I rollerbladed over 6 miles around a circle
- I love to make up the most absurd backstories for strangers
